Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, is delighting Business Class passengers on its nonstop flights to North America with an exquisite taste of Filipino cuisine, masterfully prepared by the celebrated Filipino Chef JP Anglo. These culinary delights are now being served on flights connecting Manila with key destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, and Toronto.

Chef JP Anglo, renowned for his innovative approach to Filipino cooking, is the culinary genius behind Sarsa, a restaurant that has become a staple in the bustling Makati business district of Metro Manila. Expanding his culinary horizons, Chef JP has also recently made his mark in the United Arab Emirates with the opening of his new restaurant, Kooya, in Dubai.

PAL President & COO Capt. Stanley K. Ng expressed the airline’s commitment to enhancing the in-flight dining experience, stating, “Elevating Philippine Airlines’ in-flight dining experience is part of our thrust to become more customer-centric and offer more value to our passengers, especially on our popular nonstop flights to the United States and Canada.” 

The collaboration with Chef JP Anglo officially took flight on August 3, 2022, aboard PR112 from Manila to Los Angeles. As passengers journeyed across the Pacific in the comfort of PAL’s Boeing 777-300ER, they were treated to Chef JP’s signature dishes, including the savory Chicken Inasal and the delectable Bangus ala Pobre.

During his stay in Los Angeles, Chef JP immersed himself in the local food scene to gather inspiration for future culinary creations destined for Philippine Airlines’ passengers.

Ria Domingo, PAL Vice President of Marketing, shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, remarking, “We’ve had an enjoyable journey developing different delectable dishes for our Philippine Airlines passengers. This collaboration with a Filipino culinary expert will showcase Filipino food for the global community.”

Philippine Airlines operates twice-daily flights from Manila to Los Angeles, utilizing the sophisticated B777-300ER aircraft. Philippine Airlines Business Class service is renowned for its pre-flight concierge, full-flat beds, and a selection of food and beverages curated by renowned chefs like Chef JP Anglo, complemented by the world-class service of PAL’s flight attendants, ensuring a direct and luxurious journey to destinations across the globe.
